Stage 5 - After adding the sell-lines into my cover I then added some other smaller images onto it. I also arranged the images so that some of the text over-lapped them and i also spaced them out so that it didnt make my page look over crowded. The overall outcome is my finished Music Magazine Front Cover which i am very pleased with.
Stage 4 - After choosing suitable colours for my background I then went onto adding text onto my front cover. I started with the title 'VOLUME' and changed the colour to a dark blue so that it stands out from the rest of the background colours. I also changed the font to a large, bold font which i found on the 'dafont' website. I added sell-lines onto my front cover and edited the colours of them and their fonts. I also changed their positioning on the page and i rotated some of them to get rid of any obvious 'horizontal lines'.

Stage 3 - After editing the image of the model, I then decided to edit the background. I selected the inverse (the background) and went onto the 'curves' tool. Using the curves tool allowed me to experiment with different vibrant colours all mixed together. I could also choose which colour i used and change the tone of each colour.

Stage 2 - By using the 'Lasso tool' in Photoshop i was then able to select the image of the model without including the background. I then 'desaturated' the image of the model (leaving the background its original colour). I also increased the contrast and brightness of the image which then made it sharper and also made it stand out more from the background.

Chosen image for my Music Magazine Front Cover
Stage 1 - This is my chosen image for my magazine front cover. I chose this image because it follows the 2/3rds rule (allowing me to use the other 3rd for sell lines). I also like the pose that the model is doing and the fact that she is holding a guitar implies that the genre of the magazine is going to be music related. The photo is sharp and in focus which means that i will have to do less editing to it on Photoshop which saves me time.
