This is another example of a pop music magazine front cover. i like how all the artists are are holding microphones and their gaze is directed straight into the camera. I also like the way they have been arranged on the cover so that the solo artist (Britney Spears) is in the middle and the group (Steps) are around the outside. The sell lines are to the bottom 3rd of the page so that the top of the main image can be seen clearly. There are also smaller images in two corners of the page, so that they dont take up much room and dont over-crowd the front cover.

This music magazine is called 'Smash hits' and is directed specifically towards an audience who are interested in the music genre 'pop'. I can tell the genre of this music magazine is pop due to the bright, contrasting colours (bright pink, light blue, green and yellow). These colours stand out from each other on the page and help attract the target audiences gaze. Also, instead of their being one main image, there are infact two (Pink and Avril Lavigne). By having two pictures of the artists shows that they are competing against each other. The tag line also supports this "Avril V Pink". The layout of the cover is very crowded with sell lines over-lapping the main two images and there are also other smaller images on the page, which draws the audiences gaze around the page and also creates a busy and information packed looking magazine.

Audience Feedback - Music Magazine (front cover) Questionnaire
This is one of my completed questionnaires. I then used the research I got back and applied it to the overall features of my music magazine front cover. I found this useful as it meant I knew what people wanted/expected on a music magazine, therefore I could use this to my advantage by adding/taking away things that the audience of the questionnaires suggested.
